Round Robin Bet Strategy & Calculator

A Round Robin bet offers flexibility by combining multiple parlays (two or more bets into a single wager) from a set of outcomes. This strategy increases your chances of winning while managing your risk. Our guide covers the basic strategy behind Round Robin bets, explains how to calculate payouts, and provides useful tips on how to get the most out of this method using a calculator.

What is a Round Robin Bet?

A Round Robin bet is a method of creating multiple parlays from a selection of outcomes by combining these selections into different two-team bets. If it sounds complicated, see the example below. It allows for the potential to win even if one of the teams loses. This selection reduces the risk of losing your entire stake.

The concept resembles a round-robin tournament where everyone plays against everyone else.

How Does a Round Robin Bet Work?

A Round Robin bet involves selecting and combining three or more outcomes into two team parlays. For example, if you choose three matches: Team A vs. Team B, Team A vs. Team C, and Team B vs. Team C, your Round Robin creates the following parlays:

  • Parlay 1: Team A + Team B
  • Parlay 2: Team A + Team C
  • Parlay 3: Team B + Team C

This allows for a higher chance of winning compared to a standard parlay. If one of the teams loses, you can still win on the other bets.

How to Place a Round Robin Bet

To place a Round Robin bet, select at least three outcomes. Combine them into two team parlays. This means you will be placing three bets. Choose your stake amount. If you bet £10 on each combination and create three parlays, your total stake will be £30.

How to Work out a Round Robin Bet

Let’s take a simple Round Robin bet example to show how it works. Suppose you bet £10 on three Premier League matches:

Bet (£30 in total)Choice 1Choice 2Parlay odds
Parlay 1 – £10 Brighton wins 2.00 Liverpool  wins 1.80 2.00 x 1.80 = 3.60
Parlay 2 – £10 Brighton wins 2.00 Arsenal  wins 1.75 2.00 x 1.75 = 3.50
Parlay 3 – £10 Liverpool  wins 1.80 Arsenal  wins 1.75 1.80 x 1.75 = 3.15

If Brighton and Liverpool win, Parlay 1 wins, and your payout is £36 (£10 stake x 3.60 odds). If Arsenal loses, the other parlays are lost. In this case, your £30 stake returns £36, with a £6 profit.

Round Robin Bet Calculator

A Round Robin Bet Calculator is a tool designed to help bettors manage and calculate the potential outcomes. To use it, you need to provide:

  • Notional Bet: The amount you want to bet on each parlay.
  • Number of Games: The total number of selections you want to include.
  • Parlay Size: Specify whether you want to create a set number of parlays or allow for the maximum size.
  • Game Odds/Results: Input the odds for each selection and the expected outcomes for each event.

The bet calculator Round Robin shows the total risk; the maximum win is the highest payout if all bets win. It also displays different possible results for different wins and losses.

Strategy & Tips

The key to a successful Round Robin bet is carefully assessing the odds. Ideally, each bet pair should have odds covering the next two, i.e., at least 3.00. However, a bet with odds of 3.00 itself has a probability of winning of 33.3%.

Consider distributing your bets based on confidence levels. If one outcome (team) seems stronger, you may place a larger stake on that parlay. Balancing risk and reward is crucial. Always track your stakes and odds to manage your bankroll effectively.
